This recipe comes from the Graue Mill and makes terrific corn bread. Cut back the sugar if you want to, but The Bairds like it nice and sweet.
1 cup milk
1 egg
¼ cup melted butter
1 cup flour
1 TB baking powder
1 cup corn meal
1⁄3 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
Mix milk, egg, and butter in measuring cup. Mix dry ingredients in bowl. Add liquid and stir just until blended. Pour into greased 8 x 8 pan or pie tin. Bake at 425˚ for about 20 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
